XML-RDB Driven Semi-Structure Data Management

Abstract

Nowadays, \u00a0swirling \u00a0around \u00a0most \u00a0businesses \u00a0is \u00a0not \u00a0structure \u00a0information \u00a0but \u00a0semi-structure information, such as spreadsheets, and documents created by an individual or company. However, in spite of success \u00a0of \u00a0data \u00a0management \u00a0of \u00a0structure \u00a0data \u00a0by \u00a0using \u00a0databases, \u00a0current \u00a0enterprise \u00a0information infrastructure \u00a0is \u00a0poorly \u00a0suited \u00a0for \u00a0dealing \u00a0with \u00a0the \u00a0continuing, \u00a0rapid \u00a0explosion \u00a0of \u00a0semi-structure \u00a0data \u00a0in enterprise. \u00a0In \u00a0this \u00a0paper \u00a0we \u00a0discuss \u00a0a \u00a0system \u00a0based \u00a0on \u00a0the \u00a0integration \u00a0between \u00a0XML \u00a0and \u00a0RDB \u00a0in \u00a0a \u00a0three- tiered framework, which undertakes research at the intersection of XML and RDB, exploits their strengths in a \u00a0common \u00a0framework, \u00a0and \u00a0expands \u00a0their \u00a0applicability \u00a0in \u00a0the \u00a0area \u00a0of \u00a0semi-structure \u00a0data \u00a0management. Through a discussion of the fundamental architecture in general and its components in particular, we depict the basic principles that should form the basis for the design of the architecture based on the integration of XML \u00a0and \u00a0RDB. \u00a0The \u00a0key \u00a0contribution \u00a0of \u00a0this \u00a0paper \u00a0is \u00a0the \u00a0framework \u00a0for \u00a0semi-structure \u00a0data \u00a0management, which \u00a0is \u00a0orchestrated through \u00a0the \u00a0transformation \u00a0of \u00a0representation, \u00a0query \u00a0and \u00a0updating \u00a0between \u00a0XML \u00a0data and RDB data.
